‘A Practical Guide to Business Start-Up’ – Seminar 2 – ‘Market Research for Beginners/Intellectual Property’

The second seminar and webinar in the ‘Practical Guide’ series, titled ‘Market Research for Beginners/Intellectual Property‘ will be held on Friday 12th April 2013.

In Seminar One, Chris Hudd from STAR Commercial Academy, will describe the process of finding out if an innovative idea or technology has a market and would attract customers, as well has giving practical tips on market engagement.

Seminar Two features a talk from Russell Thom, Patents Director from European Patent and Trademark Attorneys, Murgitroyd & Company. Russell with speak on different types pf IP, how to use them, costs and more.

Product Challenge

22 applications were received for this year’s Product Challenge, with product ideas submitted from 8 universities throughout Scotland.

The product challenge was open to all students of every Scottish University. We offer a first prize of £2,000, and two more prizes of £1,500 to help kick-start students entrepreneurial careers.

Top projects will be showcased at our Converge Challenge Awards Dinner on the 27th September in front of a range of high profile business leaders.
